Chief Adviser Pledges Cooperation as Garment Industry Aims for Export Milestone
Dr. Muhammad Yunus, serving as Chief Adviser to the interim government, conveyed confidence in the garment industry's potential to meet the ambitious goal of $100 billion in exports by 2030. Additionally, he pledged to elevate the global recognition of the nation's garment sector through international media campaigns and announced the creation of a task force dedicated to resolving the industry's current challenges.

During a discussion with members of the Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) at the Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna on Wednesday (August 14), Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser to the interim government, expressed strong optimism about the future of the garment industry. He affirmed that the current government is committed to implementing all necessary reforms in government institutions to foster a business-friendly environment. The government, he assured, will take every possible step to advance the garment industry.
Dr. Yunus expressed hope that the collaboration between the government and garment entrepreneurs would drive the industry forward, contributing to the national economy and the development of a new Bangladesh.
The BGMEA delegation was led by Khandkar Rafiqul Islam, Acting President of the organization. The meeting was also attended by the organization's First Vice President, Syed Nazrul Islam; Vice President, Arshad Jamal (Dipu); Vice President (Finance), Md. Nasir Uddin; Vice President, Miran Ali; Vice President, Abdullah Hill Rakib; Vice President, Rakibul Alam Chowdhury; along with other directors.
